To provide safe, adequate, healthy and affordable housing for all community members.
We serve as the hub for housing needs in the community, providing rental housing units both for community members, and regional entities who have established their place of business in Ouje-Bougoumou. We also manage the existing homeownership program and promote the community private housing initiative to support families in their planning.
Rental Housing program; supports tenants by providing regular maintenance and inspections on our housing units.
Housing waitlist; We manage the housing waiting list and assess the housing needs of our members on the list, along with our current tenants as their needs start to evolve. Keeping this information accurate and up to date helps us with community planning on housing.
Home Ownership program; is evolving and our role in this program as well, we are in the process of transferring the assets to the homeowners who’ve paid their acquisitions cost in full, therefore all responsibilities are transferred to the homeowner including maintenance and renovation needs. As we phase out of this program, there is the community private housing initiative that we encourage members to access to build their family home, our role is to support the administrative process and allow them to manage these housing projects.
Community development; long-term planning is necessary in order to provide adequate housing for our families, as we continue to review and assess our waiting lists, we also would like to make projections for our future housing needs. This work is vital to help us address our waitlist and work towards decreasing the number of people waiting for homes.
